today: wedding

A wedding is just what I need to wash away some of the February blues. We have been sludging through this month. But today, the mister and I are going to the court house to witness the wedding of dear friends.

oh knee

Phoebe fell down and scraped her knee last night- after insisting to walk on the brick sidewalk (which is super uneven). She didn't pay any attention to her knee last night, but this morning? All she can talk about is her knee.

"Oh, knee. Oh, knee." (over and over and over and over)

Vigil

Today was the first of many meetings for the planning of our church's Easter Vigil. Last year it was a beautiful service, 4 hours of space to move from the dark to the light, the tomb to the risen Lord. As I engage in the season of Lent, I get to have a glimpse into the beauty and reality of the Risen Lord. A glimpse of what we are moving toward; a season that will soon turn to darkness and very soon after that to Light.

now she likes it

It took us about 30 mins to get to our car from the library- which is normally about a 7 minute walk. Phoebe HAD to walk to the car, on the sidewalk that hasn't been scooped. Every time I picked her up she squirmed against my body and shouted 'wat, wat, wat' (walk in Phoebe speak).

It was a nice walk, and I am glad she is finally warming up to the snow.

Most of the walk I was thinking that anyone who saw me letting my kid trudge through a foot of snow to get to the car was probably going to call Child Protective Services on me. But we made it to the car with a runny nose, wet feet and a happy child. Mother and Child still together and no authorities coming after us.

No sign of stopping...

The snow just keeps coming! Hard to imagine how the city will dig out of this by Monday...or even Tuesday. And more is coming mid-week.

Unreal Expectations of Love

I have been watching Emma, the new PBS miniseries. It started a couple Sundays ago, and it's fantastic! Emma is so charming and adorable. I sometimes wish to be her when I grow up. Mr. Knightly is so dreamy. Lucky for me, I noticed a blurb about it in the paper and found out I could watch it on-line at my leisure. The first episode has been devoured twice and I just watched the second episode today, it was mostly filler to get to the last episode. The third installment of this Masterpiece Theater will hold the major fight scene between Mr. Knightly and Emma as well as when Emma decides she wants Mr. Knightly to be *My Mr. Knightly*. Ahhhh, so dreamy.
