There were a number of outings this week, and I am ashamed to say as a new parent; we did not bring the camera with us to any of them. I am just happy we got out of the house with all the other essentials.
(of course the diaper bag is loaded and ready to go because Gigi took care of that before she left, so I shouldn't really take credit!)Monday: "An evening with Jim and Linda Slattery"
If we lived in Kansas, Phoebe would surely be wearing a
Slattery for Senate onsie! I think Jim is her favorite politician to date. He didn't kiss her head, but he did put her to sleep, which for a baby is a good sign. The Mister and I had fun showing off our little bundle of joy, and it was so fun to see Jim full of life on the campaign trail.
Wednesday: Lunch with P Daddy at the Fed
P met two governors, the head of the motor pool, daddy's boss, and daddy's intern.
(He really does introduce himself as the Mister's intern- so cute!) The Mister was a proud dad carrying P all around to show her off. Once again, P basically slept through the whole thing! Gotta love that white noise.
Thursday: A walk with Mom
P and I went on a little walk to check out our neighborhood- P caught some of the sites, but mostly she just slept in her
sweet ride. On our way home I noticed a kid acting a little odd and then a larger group of kids behind him- something about the situation didn't seem quite right to me, so, in my hyper-aware state I decided to cross the street to distance us from them. Once we got across the street I was greeted by a passer by who stopped to take a look at Phoebe. He seemed enamored with her, and I was surprised at his interest but at ease by his gentleness. He asked what her name was and I offered up P's and my name as well. He introduced himself as Jim H.
(I forgot his last name but it started with an H) I asked him if he lived around here, and he told me that he had a storage unit at the building we were standing in front of, he then followed that up with 'I am homeless, and trying to make my way home.' I didn't know what to say, but P and I kept walking along side Jim till he got to his door. P and I made it to our home shortly after that and Jim - who knows where he made it yesterday? I am glad that P and I went for a walk yesterday and that we ran into Jim. He had such a sweet spirit, I hope we run into him again sometime soon!
There is at least one more outing this week: the Post Office!...and maybe another walk...
